National Fibromyalgia Association commemorates

“Fibromyalgia Awareness Day” on May 12, 2005

“Request Rosie on the Radio”

Recording artist Rosie Hamlin of Rosie & the Originals, is the cover story in the latest issue of Fibromyalgia AWARE magazine. Rosie, who was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2000, wrote and recorded the gold hit song “Angel Baby” in 1960.

To honor Rosie for her courage, spirit and dedication to helping raise awareness of fibromyalgia, the National Fibromyalgia Association is urging supporters to call in to their local “Oldies” radio stations on May 12, 2005 and request them to play “Angel Baby” to commemorate Fibromyalgia Awareness Day!

For a sample "Radio Script" visit the NFA website at www.FMaware.org. The script is also available in Spanish.

Over 10 million Americans suffer from fibromyalgia. Symptoms include constant widespread pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances and problems with memory and concentration. While it is most common in women, fibromyalgia strikes men, women and children of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.

Find out how you can take part in helping with research, treatment and raising awareness of this illness by joining the National Fibromyalgia Association’s “Be Aware! Be Active!” campaign for Fibromyalgia Awareness Day 2005 held on May 12.

For more information, and for a listing of Awareness Day events around the country, visit the NFA’s website at www.FMaware.org or call 714-921-0150.
